ABOUT DYNAMIC RHYTHM
DYNAMIC RHYTHM, SANTA CLARA UNIVERSITY'S TAP DANCE CLUB, WAS FOUNDED IN SPRING 2018 BY ALISSA LAFERRIERE AND ASHLEY COSTA. DYNAMIC RHYTHM OFFERS EXPERIENCED UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN AND PERFORM MULTIPLE GROUP TAP DANCES A YEAR.
Meet the dancers!
Meet Alissa. She is a senior Math major with Urban Education and Computer Science minors. She is the president, choreographer, and co-founder of Dynamic Rhythm. She has been tapping for 16 years and is also a hip hop dancer! Alissa is hoping to teach both tap and math after completing school. She is also the President of the Association for Women in Mathematics at SCU and SCU's chapter of Pi Mu Epsilon, the national mathematics honor society.
Meet Eliza! Eliza is a third year neuroscience major with a music minor. She has been dancing for about 10 years and has always favored tap and jazz over other types of dances. On campus she participates in the university orchestra.
Meet Chloé! Chloé is a junior studying French, Economics, and English Literature. Originally from Seattle, she’s been dancing for 18 years and joined Dynamic Rhythm during her first year at SCU! In her free time she loves being outside, hiking with friends and family, and walking her dogs!

Meet Mikaela! Mikaela is a senior Accounting and Information Systems major and Studio Art minor. She has been tapping since she was 4 or 5 and is so happy to have found a place to continue dancing throughout college. Mikaela is also the Editor in Chief of the Redwood, SCU’s yearbook, and a member of the LSB Peer Advising Executive Board.
Meet Raquel! She’s a second year electrical engineering major from SoCal. She’s been tapping for 7 years! Raquel is also very involved in Catholic faith formation with Campus Ministry on campus.
Meet Sarah! Sarah Zasso is a junior double majoring in psychology and communication with a minor in dance. Sarah has always loved to perform, so you can probably spot her singing, dancing, or acting in her free time! Originally from Chicago, she is so happy to be have found a home away from with with such a great group of tappers!

Alumni
Meet Danna! Danna graduated from SCU in 2020, majoring in English with minors in Creative Writing and Medieval and Renaissance Studies. Although Danna’s first experience with dance was through Color Guard, she didn’t start tap dancing until her sophomore year when she enrolled in Tap I & II at SCU. Danna is currently continuing research with the Stainforth Library of Women's Writing and working on training her 8lb emotional support dog, Taz (@taz.the.esa on IG).
Meet Sophia! Sophia graduated from SCU in 2020, double majoring in English and Communication with an international business minor. She started dancing when she was 3 at Star Dance Studio in San Francisco and her favorite style is tap!

Meet Kristina! Kristina graduated from SCU in 2020, double majoring in computer science and engineering. She has been dancing since she was 3 years old. Kristina is currently a software engineer at DreamWorks Animation in Research and Development on the Media team!
Meet Kyla! Kyla graduated from SCU in 2019, double majoring in Biology and Public Health Science and minoring in Creative Writing. She is excited to be going to medical school at Saint Louis University School of Medicine starting fall of 2020!
